Corrin Gets A Little Classic Rock

"Touch that dial, turn me on

Start me like a motor, make me run

Lovin' every minute of it "

- Loverboy

Classic Rock
What comes to mind when you read those two little words?
It's nothing 'classic' like lace doilies or Johann Sebastian Bach;
and it's surely not igneous, metamorphic & sedimentary.
(har dee har har...)
The term 'Classic Rock' is loosely used. It means something slightly different to just about any person you might ask. I can tell you three words that will come to mind for just about anyone when the word Classic is said right before the word Rock...
Sex.
Drugs.
Rock & Roll.

I'm not here today to debate what is or is not 'Classic Rock'.
I'm here today to talk about the Fashion within those two little words.

1.Steven Tyler
2.Axl Rose
3.Sebastian Bach
4.Slash

Four legends.
Four amazing musicians.
Four gorgeous men.

Let's be honest people, these men exude sex, drugs, and Rock & Roll with their fashion. Fashion has been and still is a major part of the music industry. It's a way for artists to create a visual persona that walks hand in hand with their musical persona.
Fashion can make or break musicians in the 'industry'.

I enjoy celebrating all different types of Fashion in my day to day life
and also with the use of this nifty little blog! (woohoo!)

Last night I went out to Karaoke with some new friends from work. I was feeling a little Rockish due to the fact that I was listening to 'Joan Jett Radio' on my Pandora. Needless to say, my outfit was modeled after these fore-mentioned rockers. I did the Sebastian hairdo and i threw on one of those sexy  Steven scarves; but I tied it around my head like Axl always did with the bandanna. Slash sported cut off tees or tanks a lot so I tried a more feminine version of that with a split-backed tank top.
Of course I did the leather embellished leggings and the studded leather boots as well.
Come on. Get real.
Leather = Sex,Drugs, Rock & Roll

I will forever & always be enamored by the laid-back, slightly disheveled, sexy look that my rock idols wore and wear in their time onstage and off. My proverbial 'hat' is off to you, gentlemen.
(I need to get one of those hats like Slash wore.)

Corrin Gets A Little Smelly

After taking one look at the title some of you may have thought to yourself
"I'm not reading this.
or possibly
 "...I have to read this
or maybe you thought something random like
"Shoot did I leave my straightener on?! Lemme check out this blog post real quick.

Either way, you're here. Reading my blog post.

"Why are you thinking about smells at 1:30 in the morning?", you might ask.
The Answer Is: I have no idea.
I think about scents a lot. You may not even consider perfume or cologne to be a part of someone's "closet", but hear me out... maybe you'll change your mind! ;)

People have referred to me as having the nose of a "bloodhound". I think someone even nicknamed me 'The Bloodhound' once. What I'm trying to get across here is that scents are extremely influential in the little world of Corrin Evans.

(...and I mean Little.Seriously. Not much happens here.)

Oftentimes scents can make or break a wardrobe ensemble.

If I am dressed for a night out on the town or a hot date wearing that little black dress or a sexy skirt and top; I love to pair a richer, spicy, intriguing scent with my outfit. If I'm out for an afternoon with the gals in a summery dress accented by wedged sandals; or even just jeans and a slub tee or sweater I spritz myself with a little something that is fresh, bright and maybe a little translucent when it brushes your nose.
(...you get what I mean. Shut up, Corrin.)

If someone can dress well, I am impressed. If someone can wear their scent well on top of that I am beside myself. Male or Female; (and many of my dear friends can attest to this) if you have a subtle hint of a classy scent on your body I often get distracted or dazed and I am inclined to follow you around for the rest of the day. Old, young, women, men, gay, straight...
I don't care.
Wear your scent well, and I am
in love.

Corrin Gets A Little Tapered

Let's be honest; the tapered skirt is showing up everywhere.

It's cute, 'hipster', and trendy. Here in Los Angeles I often see women of all ages sporting this hot fashion staple you can wear in virtually any setting. Dress it up by adding a cropped blazer and heels or dress it down with a burnout tee and boots.

Over-the-knee socks have been springing up left and right as well. They are hot and cheap. Paired with a short skirt or shorts they hide your calves and give onlookers a peek at the upper thigh. It's a bold statement ladies, but it looks great! Throw on the socks when you want to get away with wearing a mini or short shorts in less casual situations. You show less skin but the outfit remains as sexy as ever!

Corrin Gets A Little List-y

I am sure ya'll are thinking "Corrin, What the heck? It's January..."

I realize that most of you are probably bundled up, but hey! I recently moved to Los Angeles and it happens to be ridiculously warm here so I am eating it up and I have pulled out all my summer clothes.

I want to talk about this wonderful pair of olive colored paper bag shorts from Forever 21. Today, I have been making a lot of lists so in keeping with the fashion (HaHa...Fashion...get it?!) I am going to make a quick list of the reasons why these shorts are a wonderful piece to add to your wardrobe.

  1. High Waist (legs appear longer)
  2. Gathered Waist (waist appears smaller)
  3. Cuffed Leg Openings (thighs appear slimmer)
  4. Sash (looks freaking adorable)
  5. Functional Pockets (Come on ladies, we know we won't use them but... cute!)
Come on people, what's not to love here?
